The ETHNA SYSTEM project, within the framework of the Horizon 2020 program, aims to implement, over the next 3 years, an ethical governance system that promotes good practices in responsible research and innovation in higher education institutions, research centres and research funding bodies. For this purpose, the European project has a consortium made up of 10 entities from 8 different countries, including the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló (UJI), as the project coordinator, and the FUE-UJI, which will support the UJI as an associated entity.
In addition to the UJI, the consortium includes the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), the European Network of Research Ethics Committees (Germany), BIOCOM (Germany), Zentrum für Soziale Innovation (Austria), the Danish Board of Technology Foundation (Denmark), Applied Research and Communication (Bulgaria), Archimedes Foundation (Estonia), UNINOVA (Portugal) and FECYT (Spain). Of all the partner organisations, the H2020 ETHNA SYSTEM project will set in motion 6 ETHNA Offices in the management structures of 6 of the partner organisations, one of which is the UJI.
These ETHNA offices will work on 4 tools, the code of ethics, the ethics committee, the ethical line of alerts and suggestions and information indicators on compliance with the RRI. All this to promote research through integrity, gender equality, open science and citizen commitment.
The research groups of the UJI Ética Práctica y Democracia y Derecho, Género e Igualdad Efectiva de Mujeres y Hombres (Ethical Practice, Democracy and Right, Gender and Effective Equality between Women and Men) will carry out this project at the Universitat Jaume I de Castellón. The Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa will participate in this project by supporting the UJI in the communication, dissemination and event organization activities during the implementation of ETHNA SYSTEM.
The next 30th and 31st of January the project will take its first steps in Castellón with the celebration of the initial meeting of the project partners. A representative of each of the entities of the consortium will travel to the UJI to attend this coordination meeting, in which FUE-UJI will also participate.
